AGF Stitched with Kimberly: FREE Welded Quilt Pattern and GIVEAWAY

agf-stitched-LOGOI was asked to participate in the latest Art Gallery Fabric & Fat Quarter Shop Stitch Along with Kimberly blog hop!

Check out this video explaining the FREE Welded quilt pattern:

The Fat Quarter Shop has also made up some kits for us to purchase, featuring that lovely Artisan fabric line by Pat Bravo:
Welded Quilt Kit
Backing Set for Welded Quilt

As part of participating in this blog event, I got to see the free pattern before it was distributed, and I got to choose any Art Gallery fabrics that I wanted to use to make up the pattern…how cool is that?!?!  I waited eagerly for the precious fabric to arrive, did a little dance at my mailbox when it showed up, and dashed home to pre-wash it like all good little crafters do…

Stack of Art Gallery fabrics

And then I broke my foot.

Because I’m Cara, and that is what I do.

And, because I’m Cara, I really did experiment with the idea of pushing through a broken foot and sewing my quilt anyway…which lasted about the amount of time it took to move my fabric from my cutting table to my ironing board and I tripped about seventeen times.  As much as I love quilting, “death by tripping over iron cord” is really not the way I want to bow out of this world.

A sad email was then written to the Fat Quarter Shop.  *sniffle*

A very kind response was received.  *smile*  The folks at the Fat Quarter Shop are so very nice.

I am really bummed that I couldn’t make up a quilt to show you, because the Welded pattern is super cute, and I was really looking forward to its assembly.

But, even though I don’t have a quilt to show, I DO have a lovely, lovely giveaway to offer: a fat quarter bundle of your favorite Art Gallery fabrics!

Win a fat quarter bundle of your favorite Art Gallery fabrics over at That Crafty Cara!

To enter, simply leave a comment on this blog post telling me at least ONE (1) Art Gallery fabric that you would choose to have in your fat quarter bundle if you won!  Also make sure to include a way for me to contact you if you win.  (Not sure which Art Gallery fabric you’d like? Visit the Art Gallery Fabric website or Fat Quarter Shop’s Art Gallery section, drool a little bit, and then come back here to leave a comment.)

Giveaway is open to US and International commenters, and will close on Friday, October 2nd, 2015 at 11:59 pm MDT.  I’ll post the winner here and on Instagram (@thatcraftycara) the next day.

A huge thank you to Art Gallery Fabrics and the Fat Quarter Shop for inviting me to be a part of this Welded quilt pattern release; it has been a lot of fun even without being able to fully participate!  I’m really looking forward to sewing up my own quilt once my foot has healed!

So sorry about your broken foot! You’ll have more time to read quilt mags and books and surf to get even more items on your to-do list 😉 I love the Prisma line of AGF.

Sorry to hear about your broken foot. I think I would have figured out some way to just roll around on my chair so I could keep sewing. Thanks for the give-away. I like the Artisan line especially the Autumn Fleuron Etch.

    A. It feels like your foot has been broken forever and I feel so bad for you!! B. How do you pick fabrics!? I get a brain cramp because I want them all. I’d have to go with either the Ambrosial Fantasia or Crepuscular Fantasia because when you name something THAT fabulous it has to be purchased. And the fabrics are stinkin’ adorable.

I do believe I’m a Poetic Saddle kinda girl, although Cultivate Midnight Floriculture is also pretty awesome, and has the coolest name ever :). How’s your foot coming along? I still say we cut them off and grow new ones.

It’s so difficult to narrow it down! I love the Utopia line so I’ll have to say Dreamlandia Irradiated, but I also love the Hello, Bear line & Indian Summer : ). There are so many of their fabrics that I am in love with! Thanks for the opportunity! Such a great giveaway. insta(@eek365)

Oh No! I bet you can’t wait to get back into the sewing room!

I think if I had to pick for this bundle I would want Firefly in both Sigh and Whisper.

I am so sorry about your foot.

It is way too hard to pick one. I like too many… like pretty much anything from Bari J, Bonnie Christine, or Maureen Cracknell…. I could go on.

One of my favourite fabrics is Skopelos Oceanon Nisi Flora. I’m suffering (and not entirely quietly) with a sprained ankle so you have my sympathies. These old bones take longer to heal.

So many cute fabrics! I love the Rhythmic Lilac and Rhythmic Rose. Those are my daughter’s favorite colors right now. 🙂 I sure hope you heal quickly.

I’m so sorry about your foot – I hope you heal soon. One of the Art Gallery fabrics that I have my eye on is Moonflower Lady Anna Elise Fat Quarter Bundle.
    Take care!

So sorry about your foot! What’s that saying about “life is what happens while we’re making other plans”? Seems like there’s always some curve ball! There are so many gorgeous Art Gallery fabrics — Playing Pop Punch Floral Dums is one I would want in my bundle!

    I love Carmin Wind Melody.
I hear ya on the foot. I usually try to power through things like that, until it becomes very obvious that it just won’t work out.

I do adore AGF fabrics- I could pet them all day! I am currently really loving the Curiosities line- those bunnies and fireflys are so cute, but not babyish. Thanks and I hope your foot feels better soon- my sewing room (which doubles as a playroom and triples as a home office) would be downright deadly if I didn’t have full mobility!

Oh, poor you! Having anything broken is just so awkward and difficult. Hopefully, you will be healed soon and avoid PT! I love Art Gallery fabrics and one of my favorites is: Serenade Moonlight…purple is my color!

Prisma. I have to write that first or I’ll forget. I didn’t use to be a wimp about life but I’m much more careful about walking, running and where I place my feet. For example, after numerous hilarious slip and slides on snow, ice and rain slick sidewalks, my friend and I don’t walk in the early morning (dark) when there is weather. It only took several sprained ankles that take forever to heal to finally see the light. Hope you are feeling better. Thanks.

Oh what a bummer!!!! I broke my foot the day I got hired at a new job. Thought I’d make a fancy dinner to celebrate and dropped a huge heavy casserole dish on my foot. Had to have surgery twice but really it’s not too worse for wear. The quilts I’ve seen are so lovely. I’d go with the Tokyo solids bundle by AGF. I’ve always wanted to make an all solids quilt! Thanks! Lugar4tresgatos@hotmail.com

I’m sorry to hear you hurt your foot; you made me laugh with your story of how you tried to soldier on and sew anyway but I’m glad you decided to stop. I really like the Gossamar transparent filaments print.
